When Bentley announced that they’ll be producing a luxury SUV, they received a very mixed response. Will they be able to pull it off like Porsche and Range Rover? Will the Bentayga become the most luxurious, most advanced and most powerful SUV in the world?

Drive & Performance
The Bentley Bentayga isn’t a cheap SUV to purchase, with a starting price of £160,200 brand new, your expectations automatically rise to very high. To start off, there are various different driving modes to choose from, including Comfort, Bentley, Custom and Sport along with a Dynamic Ride function, so you’re able to enjoy the journey with your preferred mode. The Bentayga features air-suspension, which is impeccable and cannot be faulted as it offers a soft drive, both on road and off road. But, if the surface is broken, do expect a little shake throughout the cabin.
For day-to-day travelling, whether it be short or long, the Bentley Bentayga features a mature and experienced four-wheel drive, which is ideal for any off-road driving which the Bentayga has been designed for. The only negative in terms of driving, would be its braking – especially when braking hard, other than that, you’ll receive an all-round enjoyable drive from Bentley’s first SUV.

Top Speed: 187mph
0-62mph: 4.00 seconds

Design
This is the main aspect which is causing the most controversy as some people love the design, some people hate it – it’s a bit like marmite. Bentley have shown that they’re not scared to try new things, as they’ve produced the Mulsanne which is really one of a kind. The SUV features all of the common features of a Bentley, such as the large front grille, the large double headlights and ‘V’ shaped bonnet, topped off with the central ‘Bentley’ badge. It looks exactly like a Bentley, just a little larger. Just some advice though, the darker the colour, the better the Bentley Bentayga will look.

Cabin & Style

Bentley are most known for their insanely prestige interiors. This is what they’re best at. They wow every single time and aim to produce the most executive cabins, which are filled with the highest of quality materials and technology. Their main focus is keeping up their strong presence they’ve maintained over the years, along with their presentation inside and out – it’s safe to say that they’ve truly exceeded themselves with the Bentayga’s cabin.
Nothings ever truly ‘perfect’ but the interior of the Bentayga is capable of proving this wrong. Handcrafted, adorned with colour coordinated stitching and the Bentley logo on each seat, you’ll never forget, not even for one second, which car you are in. It’s truly unforgettable.

The infotainment system is one of the best there is, beating the likes of BMW, Audi and Mercedes. It’s even above the Continental. The new system features an 8-inch touchscreen with 60GB hard drive which is responsive and easy to navigate, especially when using the sat-nav.

Verdict
If you love trying new things, this would be a great adventure for you as it’s something Bentley have never done before. Putting aside all of the controversy, the Bentayga is up there with being one of the best SUV’s on the road – but we had faith. It gives a strong performance during every drive, reaching impressive high speeds for such a heavy car. If you’ve got the money spare, it would be an investment you wouldn’t regret and getting bored would never crossed your mind, put it that way.

It looks like a Bentley, it drives like a Bentley, it’s everything a Bentley should be – just with a twist.
